In Praise of Creative Ignorance

Creative ignorance is the stage on which path creators play the innovation game. Path creators intentionally open unanticipated doors and pursue alternatives to well-trodden paths. Path creators consciously reject trends plotted with knowledge maps. For them innovation is, in fact, disobedience. The lenses they wear do not reveal a future that is a projection of the past: their way of seeing enhances the imagination. With imagination, the future is based on uncertainties that are not quantifiable in terms of manageable risks calculated from existing maps of knowledge.
