The terminology of games and the Berne style

This article is a linguistic analysis of Berne’s terminology of games and its translation into four European languages; it also offers a description of his style in “Hello”. The hallmark is a mixture of colloquial words and technical terms, and a discourse modulation that ranges from ordinary language to specialized languages, and from popular to learned culture. A challenging task for the translators.
